Versatile actor Karamjit Anmol’s son will soon enter the Punjabi film industry. Armaan Singh, who recently turned 18, was keeping himself away from the spotlight, as his dad wanted him to pick up the nuances of cinema and acting. “Currently, he’s in the middle of completing studies. But the way he shows interest in every aspect of cinema, he’s eager to enter the industry,” confirmed Karamjit. On Armaan turning 18, his dad gave him a free hand to decide on his career. “He’s grown up now,” he said, adding, “He has assisted Smeep Kang ji last year during the making of Laavaan Phere. And he has worked behind the camera in my recent project too while assisting director Avtar Singh.” While Armaan, who like his father, wants to excel in everything, including singing, acting, writing, directing, Karamjit has suggested him to take each thing seriously. For Armaan, his dad is his inspiration “Since his grooming started at an early stage, he’s keen to do things fast. But I have told him to work hard and do not rely on me for any roles/opportunities. I think he has got the message loud and clear,” added Karamjit. When Armaan is not studying he’s either watching old Punjabi films, or reading about the history of Punjabi cinema. From his dad he has a special direction, “Meaningful and hard-hitting content coupled with good acting skills is the future.”
