Mahendra Kapoor was the most famous Indian playback singer. He was born on 9 January 1934 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was the son of Shano Devi (Shanti). He was married to Pravinlata Kapoor. He has a son Ruhan Kapoor and has 3 Daughters are Benu, Anu, or Purna. His favorite singer is Mohammed Rafi.
He was started singing at the age of 13. Mahendra was the first playback singer who recorded the music in English.
