With Playing Priya, director Arif Ali, whose first film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil (2014) starred Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth, has dabbled in the world of web shorts. However, the purpose of this 5-minute film is to highlight playback vocalist Sunidhi Chauhan’s camera friendliness. Chauhan previously voiced characters in the animated flicks Rio and Sons of Ram, and the film was shot in less than a day.
The drama, which was created for the Humaramovie YouTube channel, portrays Chauhan as a housewife who is left alone for the first time in a long time. Priya (Chauhan) sees off her husband (Mukul Chadda) and her two arguing children at the opening of the story. Priya begins to strut around the house, relishing the freedom of finally being alone. When her husband returns to the room at the end of the film, there is a twist. There is very little conversation in the novel, and the plot is barely holding it together. It does, however, do a fantastic job of establishing Chauhan’s acting abilities. Maybe we’ll see her in a more developed position next time? “She was a complete natural,” the director stated of Sunidhi’s acting abilities. “She has dedicated 20 years of her life to singing.
She can be a full-fledged actor if she focuses a little on acting as well and gives it a few years. She has a promising acting career ahead of her.” “I’ve always wanted to act, but I never imagined I’d enjoy it so much.” Sunidhi said in a statement that the entire event was “amazing.” “Sunidhi has a thing for thrillers, dark flicks, and twisted people,” director Ali stated. “So when I told her about this idea, she was ecstatic and agreed to star in it.”
