Delhi Police has registered a case against Siddharth Chanchal, son of popular bhajan singer Narendra Chanchal, for allegedly harassing a doctor and killing the singer.
Narendra Chanchal passed away on January 22 at Apollo Hospital due to “age related” issues.
After his death, his son Siddharth Chanchal allegedly called the doctor and abused him. Police said he blamed her for the “murder” of her father and made false allegations against him. The doctor complained that Siddhartha and his associates harassed her on social media and lodged a complaint at Lajpat Nagar police station. Deputy commissioner of police (southeast) RP Meena said, “The woman contacted us in August and told us that Siddhartha made lewd remarks and abused her after her father’s death.” Police said she was Narendra Chanchal’s family doctor for many years. A case was registered against Siddhartha under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the IPC. No arrest has been made yet.
