Amit Kumar is a popular Indian playback singer. He was born on 3 July 1952 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Kishore Kumar (Singer) and Ruma Guha Thakurta (Actress) He has 2 brothers who are Sumit Kumar (Film Producer) and Ayan Guha Thakurta. He has a sister is Shraman Guha Thakurta (Singer). He was married to Reema Ganguly (Music Artist) in 2003. He has 2 daughters who are Muktika, Brinda. His favorite actor is Amitabh Bachchan and his favorite musician is R. D. Burman.
The popular song “Aa Chalke Tujhe” was filmed by Amit at the age of 11. He was moved to Mumbai at the age of 18. This was the turning point of his life. He got his first chance to sing the song “Hosh Mein Hum Kahan” from the film “Darwaza” at the age of 21.
In 1994, after R.D. Burman’s death, he took a break from playback singing and started concentrating on live orchestra events.
