Dharmendra traveled to Memory Lane on Monday. The veteran actor shared a throwback video as his film Mera Gaon Mera Desh has completed 51 years of its release. On Instagram, Dharmendra posted a clip of himself and his son, actor Bobby Deol, talking about the film’s scenes and the film. Dharmendra started the video by speaking a line in the film. After this, the actor was seen in an interview in Hindi saying, “I did many films with humor. My village, my country was a big hit.” While performing stunts in the film, Dharmendra also said in the background of the video, “I have always done my own stunts, never used duplicates.”
As the video continued, Dharmendra was seen listening to a song with Asha Parekh while he was sitting on a bench in the reality show Indian Idol 11 (2019). They were also seen smiling and laughing. Asha wore a white sari and matching blouse, while Dharmendra wore a gray shirt, half jacket and a pair of trousers. In the clip, Bobby Deol also said in an old interview, “My village is my country, this is one of my dad’s favorite movies.” Sharing the clip, Dharmendra captioned the post, “Friends, with love (two hearted emoji). Some loving memories.” Reacting to the video, one fan wrote, “The most beautiful actor ever on Indian screen.” Another said, “Congratulations to one of the most beautiful, beloved people in the world … our dear Dharam ji, hope to see you in real life; love and respect, sir.” Many fans called it their ‘favorite film’.
Mera Gaon Mera Desh (1971) is an action drama directed by Raj Khosla and Akhtar Romani. The film stars Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Asha Parekh, Laxmi Chhaya, Jayant and Asit Sen among others.
Meanwhile, Dharmendra will next be seen in ‘Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. Directed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
