Unknown Facts
Music director Diljot Garcha and Punjabi Singer actor Harish Verma recently collaborated for two upcoming songs shot in Canada. Diljot, best known for his direction in songs like Mera Jee Karda by Deep Jandu and Jonita Gandhi, Gallan Ne 2, Front fire, Nachna Payu, Gumaan, Kinaare by Sharry Mann, has also given visual effects to Diljit Dosanjh’s hit song Lover. Says Diljot, “It was a pleasure shooting with Harish. Both the songs are sad songs. One has been penned by the famous lyricist and singer Raj Ranjodh, and sung by Harish himself. Names of both the songs are yet to be decided. The music video of one of the songs has already been shot. The second song is set to start filming in the coming weeks.”
Commenting on his experience of working with Harish, he says, “Harish has been in the industry for a long time. Working with him is a learning experience in itself. I have learned a lot from him while filming. He has an aura that he brings on set and is very humble and helpful. When I met him for the first time, I was very nervous and scared because you are meeting somebody you have only seen on the big screen. It was a wonderful experience working with him.”
With the songs being shot in Canada, Diljot says the country has given him a good experience so far. “Filming in Canada has been great. I have been here since 2018 and I must say, I love the country and the people. Being based out of Toronto has its perks. It is the centre point of a lot ethnicities and cultures from all around the world and being able to get to work with all these people from different communities is such a pleasure.”
He adds, “I have met so many people from the filming community here who have worked with many big Hollywood and Bollywood productions and it is always a learning experience. I have access to a lot of beautiful locations within in Toronto and in the outskirts. Countryside is gorgeous for shooting romantic films and videos while the neighboring city Hamilton is superb for shooting period films. Also, being in Canada brings me one more step closer to where I want to be – Hollywood.”
