Rahul Ram is an Indian music bass guitarist, music composer, and singer. He is from a South Indian family. He has been a member of the Indian Ocean band since 1991. He joined the band company as a bass Guitarist.
Education:
He completed his schooling at St. Xavier school and later he took admission to Stephen college to complete his graduate degree in chemistry, he took his master’s degree in chemistry from IIT Kanpur. He moved to the USA and became a scholar (Andrew White) at Cornell University, from where he completed his Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology. But he couldn’t find a job in the USA. So, he is coming back to India.
Personal:
He got married to Amita Baviskar in the year 1988, but they got separated in 2001. The court gave their divorce approval in 2012. He is the son of botanist late “Professor H.Y. Mohan Ram”, and his uncle’s name was late H. Y. Sharada Prasad, was best known as the media adviser to Indira Gandhi. He is also known as Logic baba because of his rationality.
Music career:
After coming back to India, he started his career in music as a bass guitarist. He got an offer from “Sushmit sen” to join the “Indian rocking Ocean Band” as a bass guitarist. Sushmita Sen is the co-founder of the Indian Ocean band. This Indian Ocean band achieved many milestones with the help of Rahul ram and other band members. Then he started composing music for movies in Bollywood. With his band member Asheem Chakrabarty, he got an offer to sing a song from the Anurag Kashyap. They sang a song “Yaar maula” from the film “Gulaal” in 2009. With “the Indian Ocean band” he contributed music in many movies such as SWARAJ—The Little Republic, Black Friday, Beware Dogs, Bhoomi, Peepli Live, Masaan, and many more.
