Unknown Facts
Music composer Anu Malik has revealed that his wife Anju had to behave as if she didn’t know him when they once went out for dinner. Anu was speaking on the sets of the singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, in which she will be seen as a special guest on the Jugdes panel. One of the contestants, Ananya Chakraborty’s hairstyle reminded Anu of the incident. He told how in the 90s he used to keep the same hairstyle and complete his look with a cowboy hat. Anu Malik said, “I still remember there was an incident when my wife and I were going out to dinner, and I told her that I was going to wear my cowboy hat and leather boots with those braids. After we left, she decided to walk 20 steps ahead of me, pretending she didn’t even know me.” He continued, “But I was very happy and confident with my outfit and had a lot of fun wearing it. I am watching Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and the day I saw Ananya, I reminded my wife of that time. , when I used to have the same ponytail. Now she just laughs at those moments.” Talking about his wife, Anu had told HT Brunch of Hindustan Times in an interview last year that he had written his first song for her. “My wife Anju and I got married when I was 22 and she was 21. This was after a long and emotional courtship at Mithibai College. I used to follow Anju and one day she complained to the college principal. I was so scared that Khandala ran away! It was raining and I composed the song Dekho Baarish Rahi Hai for my lady,” he added. In the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa episode, the composer also sang his famous song Baarish along with other judges – Himesh Reshammiya, Vishal Dadlani and Shankar Mahadevan – joined them.
