Subha mudgal is an Indian Female Playback folk singer and Hindustani musical vocalist. She was born on 1 January 1959 in Allahabad, uttar pradesh, India. She was Honored by the Padma shri award for her singing.
Personal Details:
She completed her bachelor Degree from st. Mary convent inter college. Allahabad. Uttar Pradesh. And a master’s degree from Delhi university New Delhi. Her father’s name was Skand Gupta and mother was Jaya Gupta. She married Mukul mudgal, who was the son of one of her guru “Vinay Chandra Maudgalya” but they got divorce after some years, then she married to “Dr. Aneesh Pradhan ” (An tabla soloist) in 2000 to present. She has been interested in music since her childhood.
Music career:
She started learning singing from her college days. She learn singing from many music teacher guru:pandit ramashreya jha, vinay chandra maudgalya, pandit vasant thakur, pandit jitender abhisheki, Naina devi and pandit kumar Gandharwa. From all of these she learnt different music genres.
She made her debut in the singing career as professionals with the song of dance of the wind in 1998. She sang the title song for the star plus famous show “Diya aur baati hum” duet with “Kailash kher”. She sang many superhit songs in her career such as:
“Aditya Hridaya Stotra” “Daak Babu” “Chunari Mein Daag” “Dholna” “Piya Tu Kahan Hai” “Akele Hum Nadiya Kinare” “Bichua” “Piya Mila De”. And many more songs.
Awards:
- She got the Padma shri Award in 2000
- She got the Gold Plaque Award for her music Album of the film “Dance of the Wind” at the 34th Chicago International Film Festival in 1998.
- She was honored by the “National Film Award” for Best Non-Feature Film Music Direction for “Amrit Beej” in 1996.
