Saba Azad, who was born on 1 November 1985, is a multi-talented Indian personality working as an actress, theatre director, and musician.
Being one of the lead artists, Saba started her Bollywood career with the film “Dil Kabaddi” in 2008. Her acting as a lead artist in the film Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge (2011) was one of her famous performances. She is also one of the lead artists in the Y-Films web series, Ladies Room (2016) where she played the role of Dingo.
Saba, who was born to a Punjabi father and a Kashmiri mother, actually belongs to a theatre background family as her grandfather Safdar Hashmi was a prominent theatre personality. Being born into a theatre family, Saba began to show her intention of becoming an artist at a tender age by working with Safdar Hashmi’s theatre productions. Working with this theatre, she got the opportunity to work with great theatre personalities including Habib Tanvir, MK Raina, GP Deshpande, and NK Sharma.
She is also a trained dancer as she learned many forms of dance like Odissi, classical ballet, jazz, Latin as well as contemporary dance forms.
She along with her Odissi guru, Kiran Segal, showed her talent across the country such as England, Canada, and Nepal.
She started her career in film as an actress just after her schooling when she got an opportunity to perform a lead role in a short film Guroor for director Ishaan Nair. After that, she performed in many short films.
Azad owns a theatre company “The Skins” which she started in 2010 and “Lovepuke” directed by her was his first production which opened at NCPA’s experimental theatre in September 2010.
After moving to Mumbai from Delhi, she acted in a two-man play that was directed by Makarand Deshpande at Prithvi Theatre.
Cadbury, Pond’s, Maggi, Tata Sky, Google, Kit Kat, Vodafone, Sunsilk, Nescafe, and Airtel as well as print campaigns for Clean & Clear, Westside, and Amway, and many more, These are the commercials in which she got the chance to work as a commercial artist.
