Rahat Indori was a famous Indian Lyricist. He was born on 1 January 1950 in a Muslim family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He was the son of Rafatullah Qureshi (a cloth mill worker) and Maqbool Un Nisa Begum. He was the fourth child of his parents. He was married to Seema Rahat. He has 2 sons Faisal Rahat, Satlaj Rahat, and a daughter Shibli Irfan.
In 1972, He recited his first poetry at the age of 9. His lyrics were used in more than 11 Bollywood films including the Blockbuster film Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Rahat wrote poetry in simple language.
His couplet “Bulati Hai Magar Jaane Ka Nahi” became viral on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram during 2020 Valentine’s week. People started using this phrase as a meme.
On 11 August 2020, Mr. Indori died due to COVID-19 related complications at Indore’s Aurobindo Hospital.
