Milan Newar was born on January 01, 1986, to Mr. Ganesh Newar and Mrs.Ambika Newar in Nunaikhuti, Goriajhar Assam, into a Nepali Household. She is the most famous singer in Nepal. She is an adept singer of many languages as she has sung in Nepali, Rajasthani, and all the major northeastern states languages of India such as Assamese, Bodo, Mishing, etc.
Being born in a musical atmosphere, she developed a passion for music in her infancy. She started her training in music at the age of 4. To get more exposure to music, she went to Guwahati at the age of 11.
Apart from learning music from her parents, Milan also learned music from her Aunty Dukuna Newar and achieved a good knowledge of folk music. To expand her exposure to music, she also took training in Rajasthani Folk Music from shri Badri Vyas.
Early Carrer & Achievements
Having come to Guwahati, She started working with a production company named “Surganga”. On 30th October 2003, She got the opportunity to participate in pan India musical competition which was organized by Surganga. The aim of this competition was to promote Assames and Rajasthani Folk songs so it was based on these languages’ folk songs, and the program was judged by the most renowned personality such as the Famous Musical Maestro of Bollywood late Naushad Ali and the Famous Gazal Singer Pinaz Masani accompanied by famous classical singer Shushila Rani Patel.
She bagged the position of the 1st runner-up on this show and it was her claim to fame. This competition helped her a lot in her professional career. After that, she started to work passionately to launch her first album of folk songs, and her career of singing started getting new heights of fame.

She is also famous for his live stage shows and has performed in almost all the cities of India and Nepal including Delhi, Chennai, Gangtok, Darjeeling, Mumbai, Kolkata, Nagpur, Siliguri, Kathmandu, Biratnagar, Biragunj, and Dharan.
