Karan Kulkarni studied Music Production/Sound Design at the Queensland University of Technology. After acquiring an education in music, he came back to India to make his career in music and soon associated himself with the advertising industry where he composed music and background scores for several ads.
There are many popular brands with which he has been associated some of them are Google, Vodafone, Star Sports, Flipkart, Titan Industries, Honda, Vasan Eye Care, Lifestyle, Parachute, Amazon, and TBZ to mention a few.
Besides working in the ad industry, he also started working in the film industry as a musician. In the film industry, he got the chance to assist music director Amit Trivedi with movies including Ishaqzaade, English Vinglish, Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Trishna, and Aiyya.
In 2012, he gave music for the Gulshan Devaiah and Nimrat Kaur-starrer movie “Peddlers”. After that, he got the chance to be the music composer for critically acclaimed movies like Shahid and Aligarh.
In 2017, Kulkarni was credited as a music composer for the background music for the Vidya Balan starrer movie Tumahari Sulu. In 2019, one of his released movies was “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota” directed by Vasan Bala.
