Qamar Jalalabadi was an Indian lyricist. He was born on 9 March 1917 in a Punjabi family in Jalalabad, Amritsar, Punjab, India.
He wrote his first lyrics for the film “Zamindar”. His songs were sung by many popular singers like “Shiv Dayal Batish”, “Noor Jehan”, “G. M. Durrani”, “Zeenat Begum”, “Manju”, “Amirbai Karnataki”, “Mohammad Rafi”, “Talat Mahmood”, “Geeta Roy”, “Suraiya”, “Mukesh”, “Manna Dey”, “Asha Bhosle”, “Kishore Kumar” and “Lata Mangeshkar”.
He died on 9 January 2003.
