Right from an early age, Minu had a passion and a special music understanding of music that inclined her to follow the path of Music. As she was passionate about music but she want to achieve the perfection that’s why she started working hard and taking rigorous training in music.

She took training in classical music for many years from Ustad Ghulam Hussain Khan, The older son of Ustad Mushtaq Hussain Khan Sahib, the famous singer of Rampur Gharana and later it was Ustad Marghoob Hussain Khan, grandson of Bade Ustaad Ghulam Ali Khan Saab with whom she continued her formal training in music.

Minu Bakshi has been indeed highly expert and skilled at singing in Punjabi, her mother tongue since her childhood.

So far, there are two albums of Punjabi wedding songs ‘Lao Mehndiyan I’ and ‘Lao Mehndiyan II’ of her as a singer which were released by Music Today. Both albums are known to be best sellers and have been always in demand.

In 2006, She has the honor to her credit to be nominated for the Best Punjabi Album in the ETC Music awards. Both of her Punjabi Albums, having a unique folk texture, are invested with modern sounds and provide a feeling of great happiness and enjoyment of life.

To start ghazal singing, a form of music, that is very close to her heart. In order to hone and understand the subtlety of Urdu poetry, she also studied Urdu, the language of the gazals.

Not only is She a poet, but she is also a writer, and many of the lyrics of her songs are written by her. Her third album “Phir Se” consists of eight evergreen ghazals of some prominent Shayars of this period.

As far as her music is concerned, it is infused with a rich soulful quality and an extremely beautiful voice, and also full of passion and emotion, bringing out the best ‘Shayari’ and ‘gayaki’.

Lately, She extended her list of achievements when she is endowed with the “Order of Isabella la Catolica” by the Spanish Ambassador on the 17th of September, 2014 for her dedication towards the promotion of Spain and its traditions. Which is the second highest order provided to any foreigner by the King of Spain.

She is a multitalented personality as she is a singer, poet, professor of Spanish, welfare worker, wife, and mother.

She is very popular among the people and the Punjabi music industry for her performance regarding Punjabi folk music.

Presently, She is living with her husband Kanwaljit Bakshi in Delhi.
